Wholesale Perfume
If there is a wholesale industry that attracts
more attention from a devoted percentage of the population
it would have to go a long way to outrun the excitement and
mystery of the wholesale perfume industry. While purchasing
the world's finest fragrances from exclusive retail outlets
carries its own rewards, getting many of the same top-name
perfumes at greatly reduced prices is equally rewarding.
For one thing, these fine perfumes can be acquired through
wholesale perfume distributors at prices that are up to 80
percent lower than retail! In addition, many suppliers of
wholesale perfume will sell directly to the public at discount
prices. While the numbers may not be as low as with true
wholesale perfume transactions, the savings are still significant.
As with any true wholesale system, buying in volume reduces
prices. Many wholesale perfume distributors work exclusively
with retail stores and boutiques that purchase large amounts
of perfumes and colognes for display at their walk-in site.
These resellers generally provide the wholesale perfume merchant
with sales tax numbers and other business license information
that identifies them as established retail stores. But this
does not cut out the individual in some cases. Tip: When
talking with a wholesale perfume supplier for the first time,
ask questions. Make sure you understand their minimum order
policy and their requirements for selling direct to the public.
A bit of advice may be good at this
point. Don't think that the perfumes, colognes and fragrances
you get are imitations because the wholesale perfume merchants
sell at amazingly low prices. In just about every case,
the buyer of wholesale perfume is getting true brand name
items identical to those found on the shelves of select
department stores. You will find Chanel, Ralph Lauren,
Estee Lauder, and more in the perfume and cosmetics offered
by wholesale suppliers and distributors. As more than one
merchant in the wholesale perfume business emphasizes,
they sell only top name products, not imitations or "expired" items.
While some of the product may be in a different package
than the more elaborate retail packaging, the product is
one and the same. Tip: Make sure that any imitation or
sub-standard product is clearly marked as such. The price
should not be the same for these as for the first line
perfumes and fragrances.
Just a couple of examples to give you an
idea of the possibilities in the wholesale perfume trade:
Giorgio Beverly Hills Eau De Toilette Spray, 3 oz.
$36.34, a savings of 44 percent; Amor Amor by Cacharel Eau
De Toilette Spray, 1.7 oz. $34.49, a savings of 28 percent.
Reputable wholesale
perfume suppliers and distributors make
a strong effort to establish contacts around the world, so
that the latest and most popular perfumes are available to
their customers. Because of the demand in the wholesale perfume
industry, those who buy wholesale for their own stores sometimes
find supply limited for the most popular fragrances. While
this can be a problem in the short run, most wholesale and
retail merchants will tell you that the demand for a certain
perfume or fragrance is so strong, customers will wait. In
fact, this is one of the factors that can make the wholesale
perfume business so enticing. The challenge of getting exactly
the right perfume at a great price keeps many suppliers in
the business.
